“Others can’t let go.”

~ Fanfic.

“I owe you one.” Finn yelled as he walked down the hallway, walking away from the latino. Santana stood there in the middle in the hallway with a strange dumb smile for a few second. She didn’t know why she got this smile on her face but she couldn’t help it. She could have stayed there for a longer time but when her eyes met the mocking look of this freshman girl she liked to make fun of, she realised how pathetic and weak she was acting like. She didn’t like the look on their face, they needed to stop to look at them like her this way. She was Santana Lopez, the head cheelader, the school HBIC : They owed her respect and now, they looked at her like she was the girl people laughed at, the looser everybody hated. She sighed, gave them a look full of hate and left in the hurry. She wasn’t vulnerable, she didn’t want people to think she had feelings. Finn didn’t make her smile. No. He didn’t, he was just a awkward giant. A stupid awkward giant who sucked in bed. Who was engaged to this dork of Rachel Berry but it didn’t matter. If they wanted to spend the rest of their life unhappy, it was their choice. Santana shaked her head and sighed. Why was he still on her mind ?

Everything started two days ago. Well everything started long ago, ten years ago, when Santana was just 8 and she met Finn Hudson for the first time. This boy, Puck invited her to see his basketball match. And in his team, there was an awkward little boy, Finn. He was so shy and didn’t want to look at her or talk to her because she was a girl. He was all blushing and looking away and it made Santana laugh. It was the time her parents were about to divorce and she needed something to make her laugh and he did. It was the first time she laughed in days. This day, she thought that one day, she was going to marry him. But this story didn’t matter, the important to understand why Santana was standing in the middle of the hallway happened two days ago. Finn came to Santana and asked her for help. He asked her help to get Rachel a present. She laughed at first but he was 100% serious about it. At first, Santana disagreed but one day later, she agreed. She asked him more explanations and Finn explained her that he needed a present for their one year anniversary. Finn told her that he thought that having a one year anniversary wasn’t a good idea but Rachel really wanted that so he wanted to suprise her with a great present. Santana didn’t want to help them but she realy liked to shop for free and even if it wasn’t for her, it was still shopping. Santana found a little dress and a perfume which seemed really perfect for Rachel. Of course, she wouldn’t believe for one second that Finn chose it by himself but she would for sure like it. Finn thanked her and that led to this moment. This moment where Santana is trying her best not to think about Finn Hudson. He’s not clever, he’s stupid, he’s awkward but he makes her laugh. She can’t help it. Santana shaked her head another time and closed her eyes slowly and tried her best for him not to appear in her mind. Brittany, Brittany, Brittany. She needed to think about her girlfriend. Her girlfriend, Brittany.

“You remember when you told him you owed me one ?” She asked two weeks later. Finn nodded. “A deal is a deal. I owe you one.” He said, as he closed his locker. “By the way, Rachel loved her present.” He said. Santana made a ironic smile and raised quickly her brow. “Well. I’ve found something you could do for me.” She said, with a smirk as she put her hand on her shoulder and made it travel to her neck. Finn took a step foward. “I’m engaged.” He whispered as he looked away. He started blushing. Santana smiled. Finn hadn’t changed at all in ten years. He looked like the 8 years old kid. He was so embarassed that Santana found it cute, like she did 10 years ago, the first time she saw him. “Not that.” She said with a laugh.

Santana knocked at the door, her grandma’s door. “Are you sure about it ?” Finn asked looking at her. Santana started blushing. She thanked god to be a latino because he couldn’t notice it. The way he acted adorable, and cared about her was sweet. “Yeah. I’m sure. My grandma will believe it. Just remember we’re dating for five months. We’re very happy together but we don’t talk about feelings.” She said, recaping what he had to do. Yeah, what Santana asked for was pretty easy : She wanted him to be her fake boyfriend in front of her grandma, this way her albuela would probably forgive her for her coming out. Finn didn’t have to do that much, just to say he was her boyfriend, telling that he was quaterback and that he made her happy and she made him happy. Her abuela opened the door and was about to close it when she saw Santana but Finn stoped the door from closing. “Wait, miss.” He said, looking down at Santana. Her grandma let them in and Santana explained her the story. “So you two are dating ?” Asked her abuela. Finn and Santana nodded. Finn took her hand and crossed their fingers “Yes.” He said.  Santana shivered as he took her hand. It felt weird but incredible. “We are.” He said with a smile as he looked at her. “I’m bringing some tea” Her grandma asked as she went in the kitchen. Santana let go his hand. “Why did you take my hand ?” She asked him. “So your grandma believes we’re dating.” He said. “Here.” Alma Lopez said as she put the teapot on the table. “Would you like some tea ?” She asked. Santana nodded but Finn said : “No, thanks.” Alma left another time. Finn looked Santana and Finn kissed her. “Why did you kiss me ?” Santana asked. “So your grandma believes we’re dating.”

They left two hours later and they hold hands to the car to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. Finn drove Santana home to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. Santana let him come upstairs to her room to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. They had crazy animal sex to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. Finn broke his engagement to Rachel to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. Santana broke up with Brittany to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. They made their relation official in high school to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. They got engaged two years after college to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. Finn was there with her at her grandma’s funeral to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. They got married in a small and private ceremony to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. They got two kids to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. They become grandparents to make Santana’s grandma believe they’re dating. Santana died two days after the doctor told them that Finn wouldn’t live for long and Finn died fourteen minutes after her because they were in love and they had always been. They have been since this little awkward eight years old boy met this beautiful eight years old girl.
